Parish Priest
Left August 2010 for appointment as Parish Priest,
Fordingbridge and Ringwood.
Fr Anthony moved to this parish of the Sacred Heart in 2004. In 1994 he obtained a certificate in Social and Pastoral Ministry from La Sainte Union College, University of Southampton and in 2007 he graduated with a Masters of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, USA. He has from time to time been a member of the Council of Priests of the Diocese of Portsmouth, and served as Dean of Basingstoke from 1993 to 1994, and Dean of Bournemouth from 2003 to 2006. He has been a governor of several schools, and chaplain to several hospitals and one prison.

Fr. Jose Bezerra's final Mass at the Sacred Heart church was on Saturday 31st July 2010. We hope and pray all will go well for him.
Fr Waldecir Gonzaga — Portuguese Language Chaplain.
Fr. Waldecir arrived at the Sacred Heart Church in Bournemouth on 1st March 2009 to study English and to say Portuguese language Masses. He did wonderful work for the Portuguese Brazilian Communities. Fr. Waldecir returned to Rome in October 2009 after an 8-month stay.

Fr. Jácomo Ferreira was in residence at the Sacred Heart Church, Bournemouth, from 2006 until 2008, when he returned to Viana di Castelo, his home town in Portugal. We offer Fr. Jácomo our prayers, thanks and best wishes for the future. He will certainly be missed

Fr Mariusz served at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Bournemouth, by celebrating the Polish Language Mass, every Sunday at 2.00 pm for the Polish community. 'Collaborative ministry is a key aspect in our parish community and we have worked alongside each other for the benefit of the broader parish community.' We wish him well.

Shalom members Carolina and Yonara arrived almost 3 years ago. Max and Camilo were with us about two years and Danielle a few months. Their strong Christian and faithful Catholic dedication, commitment, devotion and youth have been an inspiration and great encouragement to us all and a catalyst to bring many young (and not so young) adults back into active participation in the life of the church. Max is moving to London to take an Accountancy course, Camilo is returning to teaching in Brazil and Danielle will continue her ministry in the UK for a couple of years.
