Don't be put off by numbers - bring your calculator and enthusiasm and join the teams counting the collections on Sundays. All on a rota basis as well.
Collections are counted every Sunday after 4 pm Mass, and 3 Counters make up the Monday morning team at either 8am or 9:30am. At present one is only required to do it every 5/6 weeks. If you are willing to help, then please contact Alan Cowan or leave your name, telephone number and what you are volunteering for, at the church office. You will be contacted by the Parish Priest for confirmation of acceptance.
Altar servers most commonly serving at the weekend Sunday Masses and Holy Day Masses. Training is provided. Watch for bulletin notices and announcements regarding server training sessions, or if you are interested in joining in service of the altar, contact the Parish Priest.
Interested in becoming a Bell Ringer? If so, the Tower Captain or Fr. Bruce would be extremely interested to hear from you. Call the office beforehand on 01202 551013 to make an appointment if you are interested.
Catechists are always needed for this programme. It is the role of the catechist to support parents as they pass on their faith to their children through the sacrament of First Communion. Those parents who are thinking of inscribing their children in the programme may prefer to volunteer their services as catechists. There will be formation and training sessions before the programme commences. Under Child Protection legislation all parishioners who work with our children are required to be vetted by the CRB.
Volunteers are also required to act as Catechists teaching Catholic faith to adults. If you can help or have any questions, please contact the Parish Office.
We hope to introduce some more modern music along with the traditional and we welcome any young adults who would like to sing or who can play an instrument. Please approach the Choir Leader directly after the 4:00 pm Sunday Mass. The Choir sings at 4 pm Mass on Sundays (except in Lent). Situated in front of the Dolours Altar.
Play a part within the Sacred Heart church-going community while developing a quality sound performance. The choir welcomes any adult who is able to sing in tune and preferably able to read music, to try out for a place in this choir. Positive outlook is more important than musical experience. Looking for people to give and receive positive energy in the choir. Contact any member of the choir, the Parish Priest or Sacred Heart Office on 01202 551013. If you play an instrument, please share your gift.
New members are invited to submit their interest to Parish Priest.
